The different drive modes are Normal, Eco, Sport, Tow/Haul, Slippery, Trail and additionally on models equipped with Intelligent 4WD, Deep Snow/Sand. Once selected, these modes can automatically modify the electronic stability control system and traction control system for optimized performance.

Normal Mode

For everyday driving. This mode is a perfect balance of excitement, comfort and convenience.

Eco Mode

This mode is for responsible, efficiently minded driving.

Sport Mode

This mode increases throttle response and provides a sportier steering feel and shifting.

Tow/Haul Mode

This mode changes shift points under acceleration to keep the vehicle further up in the power range while driving over rolling terrain for an optimized towing experience.

Slippery Mode

This mode lowers throttle response and optimizes shifting and can be used for crossing terrain where a firm surface is covered with loose, wet or slippery material.

Trail Mode

This mode lets you set a desired speed for off-road driving, and controls acceleration and braking on challenging road conditions.

Deep Snow/Sand Mode

This mode is for off-road driving on soft, dry sand or deep snow. It’s only available on Explorer^® models equipped with Intelligent 4WD.

Twin-Panel Moonroof

The available twin-panel moonroof does more than just let light in. It offers an impressive view of the sky and lets you feel the warmth of the sun.

Available Cargo Management System

Extra pockets on the side and a storage area underneath the floor provide a place for smaller items. You can also flip the reversible load floor over for plastic bedding, saving the carpet from wet or muddy cargo.
