Comfort-enhancing features abound in 2018 Expedition, like available leather-trimmed heated and ventilated front bucket seats that help relieve leg and lower back fatigue during long drives. Hear every last word - or just enjoy the silence. The 2018 Expedition interior features enhanced active noise control that works like noise-cancelling headphones. It emits sound waves that cancel out unwanted sounds in the cabin such as engine, transmission and wind.
SEATING FLEXIBILITY
All Expedition passengers can customize their riding comfort, thanks to three rows of flexible seating. Available second-row tip-and-slide seats enhance access to the second row and allow you to leave a child safety seat secured in the process. DUAL-HEADREST REAR-SEAT ENTERTAINMENT SYSTEM

The dual-headrest rear-seat entertainment system provides a next-generation video experience that allows passengers to view their home cable programming on either of two video screens or hand-held devices. Confident performance meets a comfortable ride. Ford engineers made the 3.5L EcoBoost® the standard engine because they knew how important performance is in this full-size vehicle. Ride comfort too. That's why they gave Expedition an independent rear suspension. Ride quality and control are enhanced even further with a 10-speed automatic transmission and available Continuously Controlled Damping.
3.5L ECOBOOST® ENGINE
EcoBoost technology powers performance in the Ford Expedition. Experience surprising responsiveness in the most powerful Expedition engine yet, compliments of two technologies: direct injection helping maximize power from every drop of fuel, and twin air-to-air intercooled turbochargers delivering a surge of on-demand power.
CONTINUOUSLY CONTROLLED DAMPING (CCD)
Expedition offers Continuously Controlled Damping (CCD). A suite of electronic sensors continuously monitors 46 unique motions. The damping system responds in milliseconds to help keep you confidently in control. Choose from three settings - Comfort, Normal or Sport - for the performance feel you prefer. CCD is standard on Expedition Platinum and optional on Limited.
INDEPENDENT REAR SUSPENSION
When designing the Expedition, Ford engineers departed from the conventional solid rear axle in favor of the independent multilink rear suspension (IRS). They chose the IRS because it lets each rear wheel handle road conditions on its own terms, enhancing ride quality and control. The IRS design also allows for increased leg- and head room, a convenient fold-flat third-row bench seat and low load-floor height.
10-SPEED SELECTSHIFT AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION WITH TOW/HAUL MODE
A 10-speed automatic transmission with tow/haul mode distributes power to help ensure maximum traction and a great ride on any road. It offers enhanced stability when towing or hauling heavy loads.
PLATINUM PERFORMANCE
2018 Expedition Platinum was engineered to deliver impressive performance on any road, starting with the enhanced 3.5L EcoBoost engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology, which gives you more refined power and responsive performance. Platinum also features a 10-speed SelectShiftâ„¢ automatic transmission for remarkably smooth power delivery.
SIX USBS AND CENTER CONSOLE WIRELESS CHARGER
Stay powered up on the go. 2018 Expedition offers six USB ports plus a center console wireless charger, so all your devices stay humming and ready to use at a moment's notice. Base-level Expedition offers four USB ports.
ELECTRONIC LIMITED-SLIP DIFFERENTIAL
To help improve acceleration on wet, icy, muddy or otherwise unstable road surfaces, the electronic limited-slip differential can help reduce wheelslip. Available in Heavy Duty Trailer Tow and FX4 Off-road packages along with a variety of beefed up features.

The 2018 Expedition features an array of smart driver-assist technologies, including pre-collision assist with pedestrian detection, BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert, enhanced active park assist, lane-keeping assist and adaptive cruise control with stop and go.
HILL START ASSIST/DESCENT CONTROL
Hill Start Assist/Descent Control helps keep your vehicle's power and capability under control, particularly when you're towing. When you're stopped on an incline, standard Hill Start Assist automatically works with the anti-lock brakes to hold the vehicle in place for up to two seconds while you move your foot from the brake to the accelerator. On 4-WD models, you can activate standard Hill Descent Control so the braking system automatically engages as needed to help keep you in control while descending a steep grade.
PRO TRAILER BACKUP ASSISTâ„¢
Whether you're a towing novice or a seasoned veteran, available Pro Trailer Backup Assist makes backing up a trailer as easy as turning a knob. Simply rotate the knob left or right in the direction you want the trailer to go. It can help you steer the trailer in reverse more precisely and with greater confidence.
360-DEGREE CAMERA
The available 360-degree camera with split-view display uses four cameras (one in the grille, tailgate, and under each of the sideview mirrors) enabling you to see all sides of the vehicle on the eight-inch color LCD screen. It's especially useful when maneuvering in tight spaces or on trails. The camera system includes front and rear washers to maximize visibility.
INTEGRATED TRAILER BRAKE CONTROLLER (TBC)
Integrated with the anti-lock brakes and trailer sway control, the available integrated trailer brake controller (TBC) synchronizes vehicle and trailer brakes for seamless braking when towing a large boat or camper-trailer. TBC controls are easy to use and perfectly positioned to the right of the steering wheel.
