Confidence on the Road to Adventure
The Ford Escape for 2021 offers a wide range of available features to help keep you aware of your surroundings and ever-changing traffic conditions. Ford Co-Pilot360™ is an advanced suite of standard and available driver-assist technologies to help keep you connected and confident when you hit the road as part of your diverse, adventurous and active lifestyle.

Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB)
We should all drive defensively, but sometimes other people’s lack of attention can create a hazard. This feature scans the road ahead and can alert you to potential collisions with vehicles or pedestrians detected in your path. If an impact becomes imminent and you don’t take corrective action, the brakes can apply automatically. But don’t worry – they’ll only activate if they’re needed.

BLIS® with Cross-Traffic Alert
How many times have you tensed up during an attempted lane change on a busy freeway? With BLIS, you won’t have to bother your passenger with “Can I get over?” This feature can help detect and alert you to vehicles in your blind spots, while Cross-Traffic Alert can detect traffic behind you when you’re slowly backing out of a parking spot or driveway.

Available Active Park Assist 2.0 with Reverse Parking Aid and Front Parking Aid
Parking made easy – even in tight parallel or reverse perpendicular spots. When engaged, it can help locate a potential spot. Then all you have to do is brake to a complete stop, shift into Neutral and hold down the Active Park Assist button – your vehicle does the rest. Available Active Park Assist 2.0 also offers Park Out Assist with side-sensing capability so you can confidently navigate out of a parking spot when someone’s parked too close to you.

Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go
Available Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go sensor detects traffic slowing ahead, it can bring your vehicle to a complete stop, and you can accelerate back up to the preset speed if the vehicle in front moves forward.

Rear View Camera
Between glancing in the rearview mirror and craning your neck, backing up requires a little multitasking. So we help make it easier. The Rear View Camera may not be an extra set of eyes, but it does provide a great view of what’s behind your vehicle. Just make sure to keep the camera lens free of debris (like snow or dust) and you can navigate Reverse with more confidence.

Available Evasive Steering Assist
It happens. Traffic is rolling along smoothly when suddenly there’s a slow or stopped vehicle in your path. This available feature can help make it easier to potentially avoid a collision. It doesn’t steer for you, but it can provide extra steering support if the system’s warning goes off and you need to maneuver around the vehicle ahead.

Lane-Keeping System (Includes Lane-Keeping Assist, Lane-Keeping Alert and Driver Alert)
It happens. Maybe you’re caught up listening to your favorite podcast or need your morning latte, but you’ve wandered a little too close to the edge of your lane. Luckily, the Lane-Keeping System can help you stay in your lane, even during a moment of distraction. This smart feature scans your vehicle’s position between the lines in the road ahead and can alert you if you’re starting to edge out of your lane. Having trouble staying on track? After you’ve drifted a few times, you’ll see coffee cup icon, letting you know it’s time to take a break.

Voice-Activated Touchscreen Navigation System with Pinch-to-Zoom Capability, SiriusXM
Whether it means missing a flight or just losing your cool, a wrong turn can put a dent in your day. But like a sherpa for trips large and small, the available Navigation System can help you stay confidently on course. But that’s not all. It can also point you to the nearest gas stations or coffee shops.

Auto High-Beam Headlamps
We’ve all been there. Heading into a pitch-black stretch of road and having to turn on the high beams – then forgetting to turn them off again as oncoming traffic approaches. Now, unlit roads, dark peripheries and other low-visibility situations don’t have to catch you off guard. Auto High-Beam Headlamps can sense poor lighting conditions and switch on to light your path ahead. They can even sense oncoming headlights and dim automatically so you don’t have to worry about blinding other drivers. So you can keep your focus – and both hands on the wheel.

12.3-Inch Digital Instrument Cluster
A new way to look at your dash. The available 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster lets you configure the look and function of your driving information.

Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control
Available Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control adds Speed Sign Recognition to go along with features like Stop-and-Go and Lane Centering. Once you’ve activated the feature and set your preferred speed, the system can detect and automatically adjust to speed limit signs along your route. This smart system can also bring the vehicle to a stop, when needed, if traffic ahead has stopped or slowed. As soon as things clear, you’ll resume your set speed. And that’s not the only way it enhances your cruise control experience. The Lane Centering feature even scans lane markings to help you keep your vehicle centered between the lines.

B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen with 10 Speakers
Enjoy your personal sound studio wherever you go. The available B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen (standard on Titanium) offers a dynamic, immersive listening experience for everyone on board.

Wireless Charging
Stay powered on the go with the available Wireless Charging Pad located in the center console. Just set your smartphone, charging side down, on top of the pad and it automatically senses and begins charging the device.

FordPass™ Connect with 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot
With FordPass™ Connect,* Ford owners and passengers can enjoy an available 4G LTE in-vehicle Wi-Fi hotspot, powered by AT&T. Up to 10 devices can connect at once, and you can use FordPass to keep track of your Wi-Fi data usage. You can access the hotspot up to 50 feet outside the vehicle. Now you can stay connected, even as you roam the highways.
*FordPass Connect (optional on select vehicles), the FordPass App; and complimentary Connected Service are required for remote features (see FordPass Terms for details).

WAZE Technology
You can collaborate with other users, outsmarting traffic by sharing information to get the best routes, and receive real-time alerts about accidents, road hazards and traffic jams. You can operate Waze through your vehicle’s touchscreen, as well as use voice commands for hands-free control, helping to keep your eyes on the road.

Ford+Alexa
When connected to SYNC® 3 AppLink, Amazon’s cloud-based voice service provides hands-free access to a variety of features and capabilities. You’ll have access to Voice Navigation, Traffic Information, Amazon Prime shopping and can even control your supported Smart Home devices. Alexa also interacts with Google, Apple, & Microsoft calendars as well.
Capability

Capability to Explore
It’s a big world out there. Escape lets you hit the road and explore it with the choice of three different engines. For helping keeping you in control, there’s also the available All-Wheel Drive Disconnect and standard Selectable Drive Modes.

1.5L EcoBoost® Engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology
The standard 1.5L EcoBoost® engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology is coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Auto Start-Stop Technology can help lower fuel consumption and vehicle emissions during city driving when your vehicle comes to a stop. The engine shuts off and then seamlessly restarts when you step on the accelerator or when your foot leaves the brake pedal.

2.0L EcoBoost® Engine with Auto Start-Stop Technology
The available 2.0L EcoBoost® engine comes with Auto Start-Stop Technology and SelectShift.® The eight-speed transmission offers the convenience of an automatic or the sporty feel of a manual. What’s more, when equipped with the 2.0L EcoBoost Class II Trailer Tow Package, this engine has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 lbs.

Hybrid 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-Cycle I-4 Engine
The 2.5L I-4 Atkinson-cycle powertrain features an electronically controlled continuously variable transmission (eCVT) and an 88 kW electric motor. Also, the all-new Escape Hybrid packages its liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery smartly outside of the passenger compartment below the floor of the second-row seats rather than occupying a significant portion of the cargo area. The briefcase-shaped battery in the standard hybrid measures less than one-third the size of the previous-generation Escape Hybrid battery. Standard on all Escape Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid models.

Plug-In 2.5L iVCT Atkinson-Cycle I-4 Engine
The 2021 Escape Plug-in Hybrid has a Level 1/Level 2 AC charging port. Using a 110-volt Level 1 charger, the estimated time to fully charge the battery is 10 to 11 hours. Using a 240-volt Level 2 charger, charge time drops to roughly 3.5 hours. What’s more, the design of the 2021 Escape allows for the battery to be stored underneath the passenger compartment, which frees up space in the cabin, offering plug-in customers more room with no humps from the battery.

AWD with AWD Disconnect
Designed to save fuel, available All-Wheel Drive Disconnect can disable the rear driveline when the system detects AWD is not needed. This allows only the front wheels to propel the vehicle, reducing drag and the overall energy demands of the drivetrain.

Eco Mode
For efficient and responsible driving, this mode helps deliver maximum fuel efficiency and increases driving range.

Sport Mode
This mode increases throttle response and provides a sportier steering feel, along with quicker shifting. The suspension also stiffens, with an emphasis on handling and control.

Normal Mode
For everyday driving. This mode is a perfect balance of excitement, comfort and convenience.

Slippery Mode
This mode is for firm surfaces covered with loose or slippery material such as ice, water, grass or a thin layer of gravel or sand.

Sand Mode
This mode can help keep your vehicle under control in soft dry sand.

Cold Weather Package
New for 2021, the Cold Weather Package includes electronic automatic temperature control with rear air duct, heated front-row seats, heated sideview mirrors, remote start system, plus a heated and premium wrapped steering wheel.

Towing Capability
Escape Titanium with its 2.0L EcoBoost® engine has a maximum towing capacity of 3,500 lbs. when equipped with the Class II Trailer Tow Package. The standard 1.5L EcoBoost® engine, when properly equipped, can tow up to 2,000 lbs. And don’t forget about hybrid capability, because when properly equipped, the Hybrid and Plug-in Hybrid are powered by the 2.5L I-4 and can each tow up to 1,500 lbs.
Convenience

For Getting Around and Getting It Done
2021 Escape has made the right features available to get you through your busy schedule. Besides an interior with plenty of cargo space and best-in-class second-row leg room, Escape can also help you park, stay informed and even open up when you have your hands full.

Second-Row Sliding Seats, 60/40 Split-Fold Down
Your life on the go needs both convenience and versatility. That’s why 2021 Escape has second row 60/40 split-fold seats with a sliding feature for more cargo space or best-in-class second-row leg room with 40.7 inches of personal space.

Active Park Assist 2.0
Standard on Titanium, available Active Park Assist 2.0 with Reverse Parking Aid and Front Parking Aid takes parallel or perpendicular parking to an automatic level. Once the feature is engaged by pushing the Active Park Assist button, the system will detect an appropriate parallel or perpendicular parking spot. When the system identifies a parking spot, it will prompt you to come to a complete stop, shift to Neutral, release the brake pedal and hold the Active Park Assist button down; the vehicle does the rest. All steering, shifting, brake and accelerator controls are performed by the system. The system can do the same actions for exiting a parallel parking spot as well.

Rotary Gear Shift Dial
The rotary gear shift dial takes up less room than a traditional gear shift lever. This opens up space for more conveniently arranged cupholders, improved bin size, smart storage and a USB port right where you need it.

B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen with 10 Speakers
Enjoy your personal sound studio wherever you go. The available B&O Sound System by Bang & Olufsen (standard on Titanium) offers a dynamic, immersive listening experience for everyone on board.

Hands-Free Foot-Activated Liftgate
Thanks to the available hands-free foot-activated liftgate, there’s no need to fumble for keys. Its operation is especially helpful when your arms are full of items like grocery bags. With the Intelligent Access key fob in your pocket or purse, kick your foot under the bumper and the liftgate opens. You can also adjust the liftgate height, helpful for lower overhangs. Available on SEL Technology Package and standard on Titanium.
